Rehabilitation of Hong Kong
Telephone System.
With reference to Messrs. Siemens Brothers' quotation No.5723 dated 14th May and my letter No.351/7 of even date, will you please place an order with them for the following equipment.
Item 1.
For the supply, packing for export and delivery f.o.b. London, of automatic telephone equipment of Messrs. Siemens Brothers No.52 type, with tropical finish providing for one exchange of 2900 subscribers lines, 5 digit numbers (utilising such racks and apparatus as Messrs. Siemens Brothers hold of the previous order No.930471, for extensions to Kowloon, which was frustrated in December 1941, and based on originating traffic of 052 T.U. per B.H. with trunking scheme as on Drawing 110/642.

Additional to item 1 (Available from the frustrated Hong Kong contract).
One Group selector auto routiner, with access
equipment.
One Final selector auto routiner, with access
equipment.
The necessary impulse machines (on A.E.R. if
routiners provided).

Item 3.
Also please arrange for the services of an Installing Engineer and one Assistant to supervise the installation, test and assist in bringing the equipment into service:
(a) Provision to be made for fares to and from
the port of embarkation, the cost of passages to and from Hong Kong and salaries during outward and homeward voyages together with cost of supply of sundry installing materials loan of installation tools and other expenses.
